Julie Dowling has been established as an independent architect in San Francisco, California since 2001.  Julie began her architectural career in the office of Michael Graves, in Princeton, NJ, while receiving her masters’ degree in Architecture from Princeton University. 

 

During a summer sabatical following graduate school, Julie moved to Madrid, Spain to work in the office of Juan Navarro Baldeweg. This experience solidified her appreciation for modern design. From there, she returned to Michael Graves office where she focused on custom residential projects for four years. Julie moved to San Francisco in 1998 where she worked as a senior store designer for Banana Republic, developing new store concepts and flagship store design. Julie established Dowling Studios in 2001.
