Toyon Lane

Sausalito, California

Toyon Lane was originally designed in 1955 by the UC Berkeley trained, modernist architect Roger Lee. In 2000, Robert Swatt updated the original design and expanded the footprint to create an elegant 2-story linear glass and wood form that runs the length of the hillside lot. In 2021, Dowling Studios redesigned the interior spaces and finishes, including the kitchen, a fireplace wall that serves as a primary focal point in the main living space, the stairwell and all bathrooms. The exterior landscape was also refined to highlight the graceful lines of the elevation fronting Toyon Lane. This project was completed in February 2022.
